Location: Multispeciality Hospital Emergency Department
The hospital is looking for a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to provide immediate assessment and treatment for patients presenting with acute illnesses, trauma and life‑threatening emergencies in the Emergency Department.
The role involves rapid triage, clinical evaluation, formulation of differential diagnoses, and initiation of evidence‑based management for medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, pediatric and trauma emergencies. The Emergency Medicine doctor will stabilize critically ill patients, perform key emergency procedures (airway management, resuscitation, shock management, initial trauma care) and coordinate safe transfer to ICU, operation theatre or appropriate specialty wards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and triage all patients arriving to the Emergency Department.
- Perform focused history, physical examination and order appropriate laboratory and imaging tests.
- Initiate life‑saving treatment, including CPR, airway management, fluid resuscitation and emergency medications.
- Decide on admission, referral, transfer or safe discharge, with proper handover to inpatient teams.
- Provide clear communication and counselling to patients and families during emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in emergency medical records and discharge summaries.
- Work collaboratively with ICU, anesthesia, surgery, cardiology and other departments during codes and major emergencies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MBBS with MD/DNB in Emergency Medicine, or MD Medicine / Anesthesia with recognized Emergency Medicine training; MEM/Fellowship in Emergency Medicine also considered.
- Valid medical registration and certification in BLS and ACLS (ATLS/PALS preferred).
- 1–3 years or more experience in a busy Emergency Department / Casualty in a tertiary care or multispeciality hospital.
- Strong clinical judgement, ability to work under pressure, good communication and team‑working skills.
