Job Overview

A tertiary care hospital in Rourkela requires an Intensivist to lead the ICU/HDU, manage critically ill patients on ventilator support, and ensure high-quality intensive care.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage critically ill patients in the ICU on mechanical ventilation and multi-organ support.
• Lead daily ICU rounds and implement evidence-based critical care protocols.
• Perform ICU procedures: intubation, bronchoscopy, arterial lines, CVP, haemofiltration.
• Manage sepsis, ARDS, multi-organ failure, and polytrauma patients.
• Coordinate with surgical, cardiac, and medical teams for complex ICU cases.
• Ensure safe ventilator weaning and ICU discharge planning.
• Supervise nursing staff and train resident doctors in ICU care.
• Participate in morbidity-mortality meetings and quality improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• MBBS with MD/DNB Anaesthesiology, Medicine, or Pulmonology.
• Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine / FNB Critical Care preferred.
• Valid NMC registration.
• ACLS/BLS certification mandatory.
