Job Overview
This Urologist consultant job in Palakkad is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established multispecialty hospital with modern OT, ICU and diagnostic support. The hospital is looking for a committed Urology specialist who can independently manage OPD, IPD and OT work while building a strong Urology practice in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage conditions of the urinary tract and male reproductive system in OPD, IPD and emergency settings.
- Perform advanced urological surgeries including TURP, PCNL, URS, endourology and basic laparoscopic urology procedures.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient Urology consultations with evidence-based clinical practice.
- Collaborate closely with Nephrology, Oncology, General Surgery, Anaesthesia, Radiology and ICU teams for holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, consent and discharge summaries as per hospital protocols.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement and on-call rota as required by the hospital.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- MBBS + MS in General Surgery + MCh / DNB in Urology from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with State Medical Council / National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Preferred experience of 5–19 years as Consultant / Senior Registrar in Urology; motivated candidates with lesser experience may be considered.
- Strong operative skills in endourology and stone work; exposure to uro-oncology and laparoscopic urology will be an added advantage.
- Good communication skills, ethical practice and patient-focused approach; Malayalam-speaking candidates preferred.
Salary & Benefits
- Monthly salary in the range of ₹3,50,000 – ₹4,50,000, negotiable based on experience and profile.
