Job Overview
This Medical Oncology consultant job in Palakkad is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established hospital with modern oncology day-care, ICU and diagnostic support.
The hospital is looking for a Medical Oncologist who can build a strong oncology practice in Palakkad while ensuring safe chemotherapy delivery and compassionate cancer care.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with solid tumours and haematological malignancies in OPD, IPD and emergency settings.
- Plan, prescribe and supervise chemotherapy and supportive oncology care as per standard protocols.
- Coordinate care with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology and ICU teams.
- Provide patient and family counselling on diagnosis, treatment options and follow-up plans.
- Maintain accurate oncology documentation, chemotherapy orders and discharge summaries.
- Participate in tumour board meetings, CMEs and quality improvement activities in the oncology department.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- DM / DNB in Medical Oncology or DM / DNB in Medical Gastroenterology with relevant oncology experience.
- Valid registration with State Medical Council / National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Freshers and experienced Medical Oncologists up to 22 years post-qualification can apply.
- Good clinical judgement in chemotherapy planning and toxicity management.
- Strong communication skills, ethical practice and patient-centred approach; Malayalam-speaking candidates preferred.
Salary & Benefits
- Monthly salary in the range of ₹3,00,000 – ₹4,50,000; higher package negotiable for experienced oncologists.
