The Medical Gastroenterologist will provide comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal conditions and diseases. This includes diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders of the stomach, intestines, esophagus, liver, pancreas, and other related organs. The role involves both outpatient and inpatient care, performing endoscopic procedures, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:
Diagnose and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders. Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

Endoscopic Procedures:
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy, upper endoscopy (EGD), ERCP, and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). Interpret endoscopic findings and biopsy results.

Clinical Management:
Manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions. Prescribe and manage medications. Provide follow-up care and monitor patient progress.

Collaboration and Coordination:
Work closely with other medical professionals, including surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and primary care physicians. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions. Refer patients to other specialists when necessary.

Education and Training:
Educate patients and their families about gastrointestinal health, treatment options, and preventive care. Provide training and mentorship to medical students, residents, and other healthcare staff.

Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records. Stay updated with the latest research, treatments, and technologies in gastroenterology. Participate in hospital committees and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
DM or Dnb with specialization in Medical Gastroenterology.
Valid medical license to practice.
Extensive experience in performing endoscopic procedures.
Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current in the field.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform endoscopic procedures, which may require standing for extended periods. Capacity to handle stressful situations and provide care in emergencies.
