Job Summary:
Emergency Care: Provide immediate medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses or injuries.
Triage: Assess the severity of patients' conditions and prioritize treatment accordingly.
Diagnosis and Treatment: Perform rapid evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with various medical conditions, including trauma, cardiac emergencies, respiratory distress, and other acute illnesses.
Medical Procedures: Administer medications, perform minor surgical procedures, and provide interventions such as intubation, CPR, and defibrillation as necessary.
Coordination: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and technicians, to ensure comprehensive and timely patient care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough medical records of patient encounters, including assessments, treatments, and follow-up plans.
Education and Training: Provide education and guidance to patients and their families regarding their conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures. Participate in training programs for medical students, residents, and other healthcare providers.
Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the delivery of emergency medical services and patient outcomes.
Emergency Preparedness: Stay updated on protocols and procedures for managing emergencies, including disaster preparedness and response.
Adherence to Regulations: Adhere to legal and ethical standards, as well as hospital policies and protocols, in the delivery of emergency medical care.
Qualifications:
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
Postgraduate qualification in emergency medicine or relevant specialty (MD/DNB Emergency Medicine) preferred.
Valid medical license to practice in Kerala.
Previous experience in emergency medicine or a related field is desirable.
Strong clinical skills, including the ability to make quick and accurate decisions in high-pressure situations.
